We received a nice addition to our display of historic LEA documents! Scott Buckner, Faculty Representative at Irving Middle School, brought us something special to add to our collection. This is a special certificate with several decades worth of “badges” (from 1937 through 1957!) honoring Irving Junior High School for “high professional spirit” and for an “enrolment [sic] of one hundred percent of its teaching force” in the National Education Association. We love it, and it’s currently displayed in our conference room. Thanks, Scott!
We haven’t researched the evolution of the spelling for the word “enrolment.” Perhaps some of our history-loving, research-loving members out there can tell us when it became the practice to add a second “L” to the word!
